Improving Air Quality
For Higher Education Providers Across The USA

Vendor Supplier for Sourcewell, ESSER Funds, HPS, and NCPA

The health and safety of students and educators is paramount to all of us. Hughes’ services have always been of paramount importance in
K-12 and Higher Education, as Hughes’ services address indoor air quality for students; by managing mold, and bacteria with duct cleaning, and UVC lighting.

For educators and administrators, having a company that has been in the indoor air quality industry for years, and not one of the many fly-by-night companies that has popped up in the past few years is a must.

HVAC Systems Inspections

HVAC Systems are potential breeding grounds for bacteria, fungi (mold), and a multitude of other contaminants that can spread throughout a facility via the ventilation system. The contaminants and debris found in HVAC Systems can lead to Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) problems.

Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is far from the only concern with a dirty HVAC System. Dirt and debris build-up can substantially reduce airflow, thus compromising the performance of the HVAC System, leading to increased risk of mechanical problems, and reduced airflow (possibly leading to higher energy cost).

The question now is; what is the condition of your facility's HVAC System? Without a detailed inspection it is virtually impossible to know what potential problems you might be dealing with. This is why you should contract with Hughes Environmental to inspect your facility’s HVAC System.

Hughes Environmental will utilize video and/or digital cameras to provide our clients with a detailed video and/or digital depiction of the condition inside the ductwork.

The inspection report will be a comprehensive representation of your facility’s HVAC System allowing you, the facility manager, to make an educated decision regarding the cleaning and maintenance of your facility’s HVAC Systems.

Hughes Environmental HVAC Systems Inspection Report will include:

  • All components of the Air Handler Unit detailed with video and/or Digital Photos.
  • Video and/or Digital Photos of a representative portion of the systems ductwork (supply, return, and exhaust).
  • Video and/or Digital Photos of a representative portion of the HVAC System's terminal boxes (e.g. Reheats, VAV Boxes, CAV Boxes, Mixing Boxes).

A detailed report will include:

  • Findings from the inspection
  • Recommendations based on our findings, in regards to such areas as the need for HVAC Systems cleaning, the need for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) testing, repair of internally lined insulation, etc.
  • All reports will be prepared by a National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) Certified "Air System Cleaning Specialist"(ASCS), American Council For Accredited Certification (ACAC) “Certified Mold Remediator” and “Certified Indoor Environmentalist”
